  • Browsers can be used as file managers. For me that's Seamonkey Seamonkey/Iceape, or Dillo. Dillo is a haven of simplicity and has a great html checker. This site is checked in Dillo!
  • Mc midnight commander terminal file manager

    • mc (and hence mcedit), xterm, pinit, htop, wavmon, weather (wttr), ncdu, xtrlock, zzz, can all setup in fittstool should it be desired and it's very light

  • xterm (starting an xterm gives me time, date and location in the file system)
